Getting Up After You Fall
Last night I fell when walking my dogs. There was a fox, the big dog chased it, she pulled me off a small step in the sidewalk and I fell. I landed on my shoulder and face, it was dark, my glasses had fallen off and I couldn't see anything. After doing a quick body scan to assess my injuries, and calling my husband to come help me (always take your cell phone), my first thought was "This sucks, why did this have to happen?"
But then we came inside and assessed my injuries more fully. And I realized that I was lucky. It could've been so much worse. I could have gotten a concussion, broken bones, the dog could've continued running after I fell and dragged me or gotten loose, I could've broken my glasses (which are $$$ and the only way I can see).
Living your best life with chronic illness is not about having a perfect life or a "normal" life. There will be days you fall on your face (hopefully metaphorically). What matters is that you get up and carry on; because, it could be worse.
That is easier said than done. When you're in chronic pain, or exhausted, or having chronic fatigue, or feel like you're choosing between what you need to do for your health and what you want for the rest of your life—it can feel hopeless. But, there is always something that can be done. There is always a path forward. You just have to find it.
That's where coaching can help. Together, we build your path forward and you learn strategies that you can use to pick yourself up off the metaphorical sidewalk. If you're ready, click the button below and schedule a discovery call. I can help, I know what the sidewalk feels like, and I know how to get back up again.
Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and safe long weekend. 🤗
